FAQ

Do I need vaccination for a holiday in Hurghada?

Accepted vaccines are AstraZeneca, Janssen, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, Sinovac, and Sputnik V. You are considered vaccinated if all doses of a vaccine against SARS-Cov-2 have been administered for at least two weeks before traveling.

PCR test must be done no more than 3 days before your flight. Please note: the PCR test and the vaccination certificate must contain a QR code. If you don’t have a QR code on your documentation, you’ll be forced to do a PCR test on the spot and wait for the negative results to come through.

Is Hurghada safe?

The honest truth is that Egypt now is 100% safe, a large part of the country welcomes tourists with open arms. Egypt is very safe to travel to as long as you stick to certain destinations, work with a reputable local tour operator, and be a smart traveler.

The only no-go’s in the country are what you see in the travel advisories which is to avoid the Sinai Peninsula alone and in general do not go into the western desert. In both instances, if you must, make sure you do so with an (armed) escort. There’s will from the government and the people to make tourism a priority. Now is the time for the country to rebuild and make sure it’s a prosperous time for all.
